YUMO & FRIENDS
Kimberly Sio
Hong Kong illustrator Kimberly Sio graduated from the School of Creative Media at City University of Hong Kong
and later ventured into animation creation.
In 2020, she created the first local character "Yumo".
The same year,she participated in the 7th Animation Support Program and won the Merit Awardof DigitCon6 Asia Hong Kong.
Also, she won the Best Character for Licensing Awards Top 5 (HKLA).
Each of her works represents the illustrator's sensitive inner self and personal experiences.
As she grew and gained more experience,
she began to ponder how to find a balance in the real world that would align her inner and outer selves.
Yumo & Friends
The story mainly tells the story of the protagonist "Yumo". After he grew up, he started to work in the society. Different characters were born in the bubble company and interacted with "Yumo", so he changed his name to "Yumo & Friends" to meet everyone. The employees of Bubble Company all have their own personalities and stories, and everyone has different cute and strange dreams.
Yumo
"Yumo" is a half-murloc fish who works in the office and does exactly the same meaningless job every day.
As for his motto in life, Yumo believes that everything should be done at his own pace. It is better to work one's own way than to work aimlessly every day.
Cupi
Born in a cucumber village full of kappa. "Cupi" is a very happy kappa. He likes to eat cucumber very much.
One day, Cupi got lost while looking for cucumber.
After walking to Bubble Company, found that there is a fresh cucumber in the company's refrigerator every day. Then became a member of Bubble Company.
Tako
An octopus who passionately wants to rule the world and punish everyone who eats takoyaki. However, he has a very impulsive personality and is always three-minute passion, making him a troublemaker in the office. He always only does what he likes and has no regard for other people's feelings.
Moppy
Moppy became half-murloc due to the magical power he gained. Moppy and Yumo are good friends forever.
Moppy has a very easy-going and mysterious personality, making people guess what he is doing every day.
Moppy likes to look at mops in online stores and find different hairstyles for herself to dress up.
Pumpko
Pumpko is a middle-aged man. Because he likes to eat vegetables, because eating vegetables can make him grow more hair, one day he accidentally ate a magic pumpkin and some leaves grew on his head, legs grew and he became a half-fish man. Pumpko is always silly but full of vitality. He believed in the legend that if you eat a magic pumpkin, you will have powerful life and become smart.
Adam
Adam was a frog who was born at the bottom of a well. He was very curious about everything. One day he jumped out of the well and discovered that the world was very big, so his dream had always been to travel around the world. Now Adam is an employee of the news department in the office where "Yumo" works, writing stories about the company.
Max
He is a starfish with a very considerate personality. Because Max always considers others, even if he encounters something he doesn't like, he will still agree to help. Therefore, he hopes to become stronger and more courageous, and learn to say no to others. However, because Max is afraid of heights, he often pretends to be dead when he is very scared.
Hago
He is a very shy but very vindictive hermit crab. It is even said that he has a stingy book hidden away. He has a great memory and working ability and likes to concentrate on his work. However, his sense of existence is almost zero, and he is often misunderstood by others as a snow cone.
